The Red Door Thrift Shop

  • This creative community of volunteers—from inside and outside the congregation—provides quality and affordable used goods and enables Christ Church to donate about $50,000 each year to non-profits in the Skagit Valley and around the world
  • Volunteers are welcome at The Red Door Thrift Shop, a ministry of Christ Episcopal Church. Profits from our thrift shop fund Christ Church's Community Support program. A commitment of just 3 hours/week makes a big difference in the lives of many people in our community. Anacortes Community Health Council 

  • Deacon Eric serves as the president and David Laidman as secretary/treasurer of this non-profit organization that brings together churches, government agencies, city & area non-profits and area social service providers in an effort to connect people and services in Anacortes and the Skagit Valley. Additionally, the contributions of ten Anacortes’ churches enables the  Community Health Council to provide emergency shelter via its consolidated motel voucher pool.

Island Hospital Chaplaincy

  • Rev. Diane Ramerman serves as a chaplain at Island Hospital and has received additional training in the special needs of the healthcare environment. As a chaplain, she provides emotional and pastoral support to patients, family members and staff.  

Pastoral Care Circle

  • Rev. Diane, Diane Canington, Bonita Janz, Carolyn Leaver, Valerie Long, Dale Ramerman, & Creamy Wilkins provide a listening and caring presence in the congregation and in the wider Anacortes community.  This Circle, along with a number of ad-hoc volunteers, provide pastoral support, including bringing meals and companionship to persons recovering from surgery, being with bereaved families, caring for the homeless, and offering transportation and other assistance. 

Prayer Shawl Ministry
