Members of Christ Church lead efforts of the Anacortes Community Health Council in integrating the actions of churches, government agencies, city and area nonprofits and social service providers to better connect people and services in Anacortes and the Skagit Valley.  Deacon Eric serves as president and Diane Canington as secretary/treasurer of this non-profit organization.  The Health Council has advocated for projects that promote success in school, violence prevention, substance abuse awareness, health education, family strengthening, teen support, and care for the homeless and  hungry.  Contributions of ten Anacortes churches enable the Council to provide emergency shelter via its consolidated motel voucher pool.
