Weekly Update 10 January 2025

Reflection

Margo Huth, 11/20/2024

Remember, all we have is each other.
Our wounded, confused selves.
We definitely are children of God,
looking to God for solace.

We can also bond to others on Earth.
Heal with our neighbors,
repair alongside good friends.
Dance our hearts joy with angels.

Let us join together,
walk in love and strength.
Let us show gratitude for each moment,
determined to stay out of deep sorrow,
and avoid the dark holes.

May we smile as wild grasses waft in the wind,
make eye contact with soaring birds?
Give thanks to worms building rich soil?
We must, receive the Light our Lord always sends!!

Hello Everyone!

I have a strange request for you today! Last summer we had the top part of a hutch dumped out by our shed. I saved it and put it in the garage hoping to use it for a display piece in the shop. Here’s where YOU come in. I am looking for a base for this piece. The top piece measures 56” long and 13 inches deep.  So I will need something that long and a bit deeper to put it on. Do you have something you’d be willing to donate? Would you keep your eyes open for something? Could you build me something?

This month we prepare for the month of love. We have our valentine items priced and ready to put on display tomorrow. It’s going to be all hearts and Cupid in the shop for a few weeks.

This week we also have blue tagged clothing half price and ladies jeans/slacks/yoga pants for $1.

If you are a cashier, please be aware that we have raised prices on books. Adult hardbacks are $2, paperbacks are $1. All children’s books are 50 cents each. There is a reminder note on the desk next to the cash register.

If you are a display person, take note of the Art wall next to the thermostat. Please only place nails in the wooden boards - and not in the wall. Our buildings and grounds folks have just made this area look nice. Let's keep it that way please and thank you!
